Lighting control system

The system of management of external illumination is a systematized set of means of influence on the controlled object for achievement of the certain purposes by the given object.

Control systems are divided into two large classes:
- Automated control systems (ACS) - with human participation in the control loop;
- Automatic control systems (ACS) - without human intervention in the control loop.

At present, it became obvious that the introduction of an automated control system for outdoor lighting allows the telecommunications control of the state of networks and street lighting devices, to control the burning modes of luminaires, to remotely control street lighting according to a predetermined schedule, and to record energy consumption and monitor the efficient use of electricity.

Modern automation systems are not just a tribute to fashion, they also have economic advantages:
- in automatic mode, the schedule is strictly observed, because the influence of the human factor is excluded;
- there is no need to go to check on or off lights;
- In the case of non-switching off the lighting, there is no loss of electricity, because the dispatcher is promptly notified of this and takes appropriate measures (earlier citizens reported that they did not shut down after several hours - the losses could be significant);
- for technical accounting of energy, there is no need to go out and take readings from meters visually;
- telemetry allows you to quickly identify unauthorized connections to lighting networks and detect theft of electricity;
- with the help of telemetry of voltages, currents and powers, it is possible to perform the primary diagnostics of the lighting network in the event of any accidents;
- a more reliable system built from modern components, requires less maintenance costs.

For street lighting of cities and settlements of the remote lighting control system, there are two modes of operation of lighting installations - night and night. In the evening mode, all lights are on, at night, when the intensity of the traffic falls, - part of the lighting devices is turned off.

Architectural lighting of urban objects, realized within the framework of the elaborated single concept, creates a night image of the city, forms a space, increases the comfort of the environment. On the example of Astana, it can be judged that architectural lighting raises the status of the city, makes it safe and convenient for its residents. But to achieve all this, it is not enough to design and carry out installation of the lighting system - it is necessary to maintain it in working order.
